Venezuela: Disabled Student Shot by Chavista Groups Commits Suicide

EspañolA 24-year-old man from Valencia, Venezuela, who armed Chavista groups shot on March 12 and left unable to walk as a result of the incident, committed suicide on Tuesday.

Johnny Rica Suárez was a law student at the University of Carabobo. His classmates and friends spread the news of his death through social media.

During the protests that took place in Valencia against Nicolás Maduro’s government, members of an armed collectivo group shot and severely wounded Rica in both legs and in the left buttock.

He was treated in La Isabelica Clinic, but doctors told him he would never walk again. That same day, the armed groups killed two other people and wounded 11 more.
