By: PanAm Post Staff - Jan 10, 2014, 12:10 pm

EspañolVenezuelan President Nicolás Maduro held initial discussions between authorities of all levels in Caracas on Wednesday, aimed at creating a National Conciliation law in order to address violence in the country. He examined this during a meeting with governors, mayors, ministers, and representatives from organizations linked to citizen security at the Miraflores Palace.

The president claimed that in a month from now his government will have answers to the violence problem. He emphasized that it is essential to reestablish values and respect for life in Venezuela. Maduro acknowledged that violence reached a dangerous peak at the end of 2013, taking culpability.

“The massacre against Mónica Spear and her husband is a slap in the face for all of us,” he admitted.

Concern over insecurity even got the president to greet the opposition leader, Henrique Capriles, who attended the meeting.
