Spain has agreed to contribute US$1.2 million to the National Network of Multimedia Centers, which is a project established to help the socioeconomic development of Honduras.

Reyes Sallent, Spain’s trade attaché in Central America, and Wilfredo Cerrato, the Honduran finance minister, signed the accord in Tegucigalpa. Sallent stated that the aim is “to make the biggest impact on Honduras’s level of development” — specifically, education, the environment, and renewable energy.

The Central American Bank of Economic Integration reported that there will be a total of three multimedia centers that provide access to computer technology, and they will be located in San Pedro Sula in the north, La Ceiba on the Caribbean, and Copan in western Honduras.
