Tropical Storm Near Mexican Pacific Coast

1

As of this Friday, September 5, the tropical storm Lorena has brought heavy rains to Baja California, Mexico, and the rise of waves on the Pacific Coast. According to the US National Hurricane Center, the storm has presented maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour, which are expected to dissipate on Sunday or Monday, when Lorena reaches land completely.

Mexican schools in Cabo San Lucas have suspended activities, anticipating the need to use the facilities as shelters for possible evacuations.

Workers from Medrano Beach, where waves have broke into land, have closed their businesses and left sandbags to prevent floods.
