Thieves Cut and Sell Hair in Venezuela

Police in Maracaibo, Venezuela, are concerned about a new crime emerging: hair theft. According to some victims, the perpetrators corner women with long hair and cut it off with secateurs without their consent.

They then sell the hair for at least US$480 (3,000 Bsf.) to wig and hair extensions manufacturers.
