Español“Venezuela is a mess,” Donald Trump said. “We will see what happens.”

The US President made the comment during a press conference with Argentina President Mauricio Macri, when he was asked about Venezuela Dictator Nicolás Maduro’s decision to withdraw from the Organization of American States.

The Venezuelan dictatorship’s decision came in response to the OAS’ vote this week on whether to convene despite Venezuela’s condemnation of any meeting, which in this case would involve discussing the current state of Venezuela. The decision was made with 19 votes in favor, 10 against, four abstentions and one absence.

The countries that voted to hold a meeting were: Guyana, Bahamas, Saint Lucia, Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.

The countries that voted against the session were Venezuela, Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Dominica, Ecuador, Haiti, Nicaragua, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent, Suriname and the Grenadines.

So far, only the decision to meet has been approved. Neither the date nor place where the meeting of foreign ministers will be held has been announced.

In view of this situation, Venezuelan ambassador to the OAS Samuel Moncada expressed his disapproval of the vote outcome.
